Jimin was always somewhat of a people pleaser. More times than not, he would put the feelings of others before his own. That's why, standing in the middle of the queue to the ticket booth, he felt his heartstrings being tugged at as he watched the scene before him unfold.
"Kook, for the last time, you can't come with us." Taehyung said sternly, but anyone with eyes could see he was putting all of his effort into suppressing a smile.
Jungkook, on the other hand, looked as if he was on the verge of tears. Nevertheless, he stood his ground, crossing his arms and puffing his chest. "That's not fair, hyung! The movie isn't even that scary!"
Taehyung scoffed. "How would you know? You haven't seen it."
"Then let me!"
"No, you big baby." Taehyung laughed just as Jungkook let out the biggest whine, clearly taking pleasure in the younger's misery. "Hey, you should be thanking me. I'm saving you from the nightmares this film would give you tonight."
Jungkook grumbled under his breath. "Liar, you're still just mad that I beat you at every game in Super Smash."
"What was that?" Taehyung leaned towards Jungkook, cupping a hand to his ear as if to hear better. "Did you say something? Or was that just the sound of you not getting to watch this movie with us?"
Jimin wanted to coo at the sight of Jungkook's pout. Even at the ripe age of seventeen, Jungkook was still just an overgrown bunny to Jimin and the rest of their friends and family. He just couldn't resist doting on the younger, always having such a weak spot for him, especially when he puffed out his cheeks and looked at Jimin with those big doe eyes and—
"Jungkookie," Jimin took a step forward, internally melting when Jungkook raised his eyebrows and relaxed his expression from hearing the sound of the elder's voice. "Hyung will go watch the new Avengers movie with you instead if you want."
Taehyung squawked, deeply affronted. "What? We've been waiting weeks for this, Jimin!"
"But we can't just send him off to see another movie on his own, Tae!"
"Why not?" Taehyung whined and stomped his foot, which was actually ridiculous since not even three minutes ago he was mocking Jungkook for complaining and acting stubborn. Children. Jimin was constantly having to deal with children.
"If you think he's old enough to take care of himself then he should be old enough to watch the movie with us." Jimin crossed his arms, fully turning to face Taehyung who was now looking back and forth between the two. His grimace deepened when his eyes settled on Jungkook, who Jimin could see from the corner of his eyes was sporting a smug expression.
Finally, Taehyung let out an exasperated sigh. "Fine, fine! Whatever." He waved them off and marched up to the ticket stand, Jimin and Jungkook following suit after exchanging glances and secretly giggling like mischievous kids who just got away with something.
After buying the tickets (that Taehyung made Jimin pay for, which he did not mind) and the popcorn (that Taehyung pulled out his wallet for because he couldn't help but feel a little bad for being petty) they finally settled into their seats at the very last row of the theater, Jimin sitting between the two while also holding the bag of popcorn.
A moment after the lights dimmed, Jimin reached into the bag for some popcorn the same time Jungkook did. Jungkook flinched, retracting his hand and muttering a sheepish, "Sorry."
Jimin simply giggled at this. God, could Jungkook get any cuter?! He seriously wondered about this sometimes.
"It's okay, Kookie. Here, open up!" Jimin raised a piece to the younger's mouth. He had to admit, it was a little ridiculous, but he just couldn't help himself. Babying and teasing Jungkook was always at the top of his agenda.
Usually, most seventeen year olds would be annoyed at being babied by their elders, wanting to seem cool and independent in front of their friends. And that is the case for Jungkook most of the time. Whenever one of their friends would tell him to put on his jacket because it's cold outside, he'd wave his hand and bear the chilly weather, not without eliciting a few eye rolls from the others. That's just how Jungkook was. Even if he really wanted to do something, he'd refuse to once someone told him to do it. He was the living example of reverse psychology.
However, with Jimin, it was always... different. No one could explain what it was. Some shrugged it off to be the power of his captivating charm, others pegged it as Jungkook harboring a secret crush on the older, which Jimin automatically brushed off. In the end, he didn't really care what it was, as long as he could dote on the younger without any objections, he was happy.
Jungkook’s eyes widened only slightly, but he hesitantly leaned forward, keeping his gaze locked with Jimin's, never looking away even as he took the piece of popcorn between his teeth and closing his mouth around it before pulling away. If Jungkook noticed the slight hitch in Jimin's breath, he didn't say anything.
"Gross." Taehyung said, rolling his eyes so hard it was practically audible. "Can you guys save your flirting for when we aren't in public and I'm not sitting right next to you?"
Jimin lightly smacked his thigh, hoping his laugh didn't sound forced. He thanked the high heavens that the lights in the theater were already off. "Shut up, I'll feed you too if you just ask."
Taehyung waved his hand dismissively. "Pass." He paused, having a thought occur to him that caused him to grin wickedly to himself. "Besides, I don't think Kook would like that."
Jimin ignored his teasing in favor of focusing on the film that was already starting. It wasn’t until halfway through the movie that Taehyung took the bag of popcorn from Jimin in fear that he’d leap ten feet into the air from a jumpscare and shower popcorn over every person in the theater.
His precautions were not done in vain, because every loud bang that erupted from the prolonged silence caused Jimin to gasp and, occasionally, scream, grasping onto Jungkook and hiding his face in his shoulder.
Jungkook, the little shit, would just burst out laughing at his hyung’s misery, drowned out by the loud sound effects resonating through the theater but somehow still audible to Jimin’s ears. He’d scold the younger if he wasn’t too terrified to look up, but the teasing was worth it when Jungkook would wind his arms around Jimin’s shoulders and bring him even closer.
“I got you, Jiminie hyung.” Jungkook said into his hair, the smile evident in his voice. Jimin’s heart skipped at that and he whined, burrowing his face further into the fabric of Jungkook’s hoodie.
“Is it over?” Jimin whispered after a moment, the dead silence coming from the film creating a false sense of security.
“Yeah, it’s over.” Jungkook whispered back, and maybe Jimin trusted this kid with his whole life because he opened his eyes without any hesitation, slowly straightening himself up and relaxing back into his seat.
Jungkook’s arm slipped away, and if Jimin said he wasn’t a little disappointed he’d be lying.
He felt eyes boring into the left side of his head and looked over to see Taehyung staring at him with a quirked brow, unamused.
“If this is the real reason you wanted Jungkook to come with us, I’m seriously judging you.” He turned to face the screen for a second before looking back to Jimin. “And slightly impressed, but still judging.”
Jimin opened his mouth to deny the accusation, but a high pitched scream caused him to whirl around and duck behind Jungkook’s shoulder again.
Even with all the yelling coming from the protagonist who was being chased by a demon, he could still make out Taehyung’s laughter that was clearly directed at him, but the hand rubbing soothing circles onto his back made it all worth it.
Although Jimin lived to baby Jungkook, he couldn’t help but indulge in the safety and protection the younger provided him right back.

After dropping Jimin and Jungkook off outside of Jimin’s house, Taehyung wished the two a goodnight, specifically Jimin who had been visibly shaken up ever since they left the cinema.
“Sleep with one eye open tonight, Jiminie!” Taehyung barked out a laugh before driving off, missing the finger Jimin had sent his way.
Jimin lived a few houses away from Jungkook, so when Jungkook gave Jimin a soft smile and a wave, making to turn around, Jimin couldn’t stop himself from speaking up.
“Jungkook! Wait,” Jimin held onto the sleeve of Jungkook’s hoodie, feeling small all of a sudden once he turned around, doe eyes watching him expectantly. “Do you, um, want to sleep over tonight?”
It was quiet for a moment, Jimin internally berating himself for making himself look like such a coward. Jungkook probably thought he was still terrified from the horror movie, which wouldn’t be completely far from the truth, but still...
“Of course, hyung.”
He just wanted to be with Jungkook for as long as he could.
The house was peacefully quiet as they made their way up to Jimin’s bedroom, his parents and brother being fast asleep. Once inside, Jimin flicked on the lights and opened his drawer, picking out one of the few sweatpants and t-shirts he had left inside - the rest having been packed in his luggages - before tossing them to Jungkook.
They both changed into the comfortable clothing respectively, used to changing in front of each other after having done so several times in the years they’ve known each other.
Once they’ve finished, Jungkook lifted the covers and settled in, Jimin joining him after and pulling the blanket up to his chin, lying on his side and facing Jungkook before letting out a content sigh. Jungkook snickered quietly, and Jimin peered at him, confused.
“Are you still scared, hyung?”
“What? I’m not afraid of anything.” Jimin smacked his chest lightly, but he felt a smile creep across his face from hearing Jungkook’s laughter.
“Don’t worry. If you are, I’ll protect you, you know.”
“Hey! Shut it, brat.” He pointed a finger straight at Jungkook’s face, but there was no real threat in his voice. “If anything, I’m the one who will protect you.”
Jungkook giggled once more before giving an unconvinced, “Sure.”
Jimin clicked his teeth, giving Jungkook one last playful glare before telling him to go to sleep. He closed his eyes, preparing to finally relax but opened them after a few minutes when he felt a gaze on him.
Jungkook was watching him with a slight pout, and Jimin couldn’t help but giggle at the sight, reaching up and running his hand through the younger’s dark hair.
“What’s wrong, Kookie?“
Jungkook shook his head slightly. “Nothing, it’s just...”
He broke eye contact, letting his eyes wander to the edge of the room. Anywhere but Jimin’s own. “You’ll call often, right hyung?”
Jimin felt his heart churn suddenly. Even though he had to leave for university in a week and Jungkook was only inches away from him in that very moment, he already missed him so much.
“Of course I will, dummy. Whenever I have the time, I’ll make sure to call or write you.”
They’d be an ocean away, Jimin choosing to attend a university in the states for a study abroad program. He wouldn’t be able to come back for a long time, and the thought of it scared him as much as it excited him. He was looking forward to being in a different country, with brand new sights to see and endless opportunities, but deep down inside he knew that no matter what happens, he would always belong in Seoul, right next to a boy with the most youthful eyes and adorable smile he had ever seen, a boy who reminds him of his home in Busan, of days and nights spent at the beach, the summer breeze brushing against his face.
The only boy who could make his heart stop yet race, skip several beats yet soar in his chest.
Jungkook bit his upper lip timidly, still seemingly lost in his own thoughts. Jimin let him take his time, continuing to lightly massage his fingers at his nape.
“You won’t forget about me, right hyung?”
“What?” Jimin said softly, moving his hand to cup Jungkook’s cheek. “Why would you even ask that? I could never forget you, silly.”
Jungkook smiled at that, finally closing his eyes. “Yeah, sorry.”
Jimin traced his thumb across Jungkook’s cheekbone, feeling him relax against his palm. He let his hand fall between them, finally feeling his eyelids become heavy.
Jungkook’s breaths became even, and Jimin assumed he had fallen asleep. He was close himself, already slipping into unconsciousness when he heard Jungkook speak, so quietly he couldn’t be sure if it was a dream.
“You’ll wait for me, right?”
Jimin hummed anyways, hearing his own voice answer back. “Always.”
If Jimin wanted others to be happy, he wanted Jungkook to be extra, extra happy. Blessed, overjoyed, elated, other synonyms for happiness and so on. He was so weak it was actually ridiculous.
He hoped he would stay this cute forever.

2 years later
Jimin pulls his last luggage out from the trunk, wiping the sweat from his brow. The taxi driver closes the hood and bows, heading back to the front before driving off.
Jimin turns around and takes in the view before him of the house he had lived in for most of his life. He can’t help the smile that stretches across his face. It looks just like how he had left it, not a single thing out of place. The atmosphere feels so welcoming and, despite not having been home for a couple of years, it‘s all so familiar. It‘s as if Jimin never left.
Soon enough, the front door opens and Jimin’s little brother yells from across the driveway, a huge grin breaking on his face.
“Jimin hyung!” He bounds across the distance between them and gives Jimin the tightest hug his body could muster.
“Jihyun-ah! Hey!” Jimin laughs, hugging his brother back. “Okay, I‘ve been back for only a minute and you’re already trying to kill me.”
Jihyun laughs and finally lets go. “Sorry, sorry, just glad to see you again. Here,” He takes a luggage and makes his way up the driveway. “Come on, mom and dad are inside.”

Jimin stretches across his bed, ready to let sleep overtake him. His whole body was spent from all the fussing around the kitchen to help his mother cook, all the catching up he and his family had at the dinner table, and all the packing he had to do to settle back into his room. It was such a busy day but still wonderful nonetheless, and Jimin can’t wait to see all of his other friends and family again. He can’t wait to hear about what he has missed in the past two years. He can’t wait to go and take walks by the Han River like he used to when he wanted to relax.
He can’t wait to see Jungkook.
He smiles at the thought of the younger boy. The promise to call often was kept for the first few months, but once exams kicked in for the both of them, the frequent Skyping sessions turned into KKT conversations instead, and after a while those soon became scarce as well. Even with the stress of studying and maintaining his grades, Jimin couldn’t help but worry that the distance would put a strain in their friendship. He couldn’t help but feel almost pressured to keep in contact with Jungkook as often as possible, afraid that if they didn’t speak for a period of time, they would resort to becoming strangers and all those precious years of friendship would go down the drain, and that was the last thing Jimin would ever want. A future without Jungkook in his life was not one he thought he could live.
He eventually admitted this to Jungkook one night during a video call, and he was quick to reassure Jimin that they didn’t have to talk every day, or even every week. That, as cheesy as it sounded, their friendship could withstand anything, and no matter how long they went without talking, Jungkook would still love Jimin the same.
“Besides, you said you’d wait for me, remember?”
Jimin paused, trying to remember exactly when he said that. He recalled a faint memory, so hazy he had thought all this time that it was a figment of his imagination, but apparently it had happened, and Jimin had really made that promise.
“I guess I did.” He smiled, relieved, and Jungkook mirrored it on his end. When did his reserved, adorable, and some(most)times bratty dongsaeng become so thoughtful and understanding, to the point where Jimin was the one seeking him out for advice? Jimin had to step up his game. He was seriously slipping. But in the end, he was glad to see that Jungkook was maturing into a sensible young man.
He wonders what else has changed about Jungkook, if he’s still just as unruly or if he let go of that trait. He wonders what he must look like now. The kid was practically M.I.A. at all times on his Instagram, and when he did post, it was mainly scenic views or picturesque streets captured with his camera. Jimin missed seeing his pretty face. But probably more than anything, he hopes he didn’t grow taller than him. Jungkook had just about a centimeter on Jimin before he left, and he prays that that was the end of his growth spurt.
All of a sudden, a faint tap is heard from across the room. Jimin blinks his eyes open, thinking it must’ve just been something from outside, but when it happens again, it’s unmistakably against glass. A tapping on his window.
Jimin turns his head and lets out a shout so loud there’s no way his family didn’t wake up from that. A figure stands at his window, his window, which is on the second floor, and Jimin is about to scream for help before the figure starts to wave and signal to him.
When it’s obvious the person doesn’t have a weapon and can do no harm, Jimin, albeit with bated breath, rises from his bed and inches closer. He’s a few feet away when he can make out the familiar features in the darkness.
“Holy shit,” Jimin gasps and fumbles with the lock on his window, hoisting it up, revealing none other than Jeon Jungkook in all his glory.
“Hi hyung,” Jungkook grins, casually leaning his arms on the window sill as if this was the most mundane thing in the world and he didn’t just nearly give Jimin a heart attack. “Did you miss me?”
“Jungkook, what the hell! Did you really scale my roof?” Jimin stares at him incredulously.
Jungkook scratches at his nape sheepishly. “Yeah, I didn’t wanna ring the doorbell and wake up your family, so...”
Jimin is still in shock, unable to believe the sight before him. “Jungkook, it’s midnight.”
At that, Jungkook looks up and nods eagerly as if he is fully aware and knows for certain that his actions are justified. “I know! But I just couldn’t wait to see you.”
Jimin stares at him, mouth agape, still dumbfounded, even more so at the fact that that was Jungkook’s sole motive, going to great lengths such as climbing his wall and balancing across his steep roof just to see Jimin as soon as possible. The more Jimin thinks about it, the less sense it seems to make, and suddenly he lets out somewhat of a laugh that’s mixed with disbelief. Soon enough, he’s doubling over from his own laughter, covering his mouth to soften the eruption of giggles and avoid waking up his family (if his screams of terror haven’t already.)
When he finally calms down, he straightens back up to see Jungkook watching him fondly with an amused smile. Jimin shakes his head, the grin never leaving his face even when he says, “Okay, well, come on in.”
Jungkook is quick to oblige, throwing one leg after the other over the ledge and hopping in. Once he’s inside and standing right in front of Jimin, Jimin feels his throat run dry because holy shit, when did Jungkook get this tall? This is actually his worst nightmare come true. He jinxed himself. Damn it.
Jimin opens his mouth to give the conventional “Wow! You’ve grown so much,” but the words die on the tip of his tongue when Jungkook leans down and wraps his arms around his waist, pressing his face into Jimin’s neck.
“I missed you so much, hyung.” Jungkook says, breath tickling his neck.
Jimin’s too focused on his heart jackhammering in his chest to form even the simplest of responses. He realizes his arms are still lying limp at his sides and timidly slides them up, splaying his hands across the expanse of Jungkook’s back.
“Wow,” he breathes, “Have you been working out?”
Smooth, Jimin. Smooth.
Jungkook chuckles, finally pulling away to face Jimin but keeping his hands on his waist. “Is it that obvious?”
Jimin can’t meet his eyes for some reason, so he lets them roam across Jungkook’s wide shoulders, across his broad chest, down to his arms - or should he say biceps? Seriously, who is this and what have they done to Jimin’s cute Jungkookie?
Jimin snaps out of his blatant ogling when he feels Jungkook’s finger tipping his chin up, finding the younger smirking down at him.
“Getting distracted?” His lips turn into a pout, the kind that used to have Jimin bending over backwards to appease the boy and get him to smile again. Now, all Jimin wants to do is test to see if they’re as soft as they look. What? Get a hold of yourself, Jimin. “You didn’t even say you missed me back.”
Jimin blinks, half stuck in his reverie and also still not quite able to believe that this is really the Jeon Jungkook he grew up with. He knows he was only there for Jungkook during his awkward, lanky preteen years and then through his pubescent, angsty teenage phase, missing out on his transition into adulthood, but god damn, can two years really do this much to a person? Jimin swears he, himself, has not changed a single bit even after all this time. Life is so cruel.
It’s even crueler when it turns his childhood best friend into the most fit and attractive man he has ever seen in his young life and presents said best friend right in front of him, their bodies and faces being too close for much longer than what would be deemed appropriate and Jimin can’t do a damn thing about it.
“Of course I’ve missed you,” he says softly, “I was going to visit you first thing in the morning.”
“Really?” Jungkook grins, finally letting his arms fall and releasing Jimin, and Jimin feels like he can breathe again - kind of. Jungkook’s overall presence is still admittedly overwhelming. “Well, now you don’t have to.”
Jimin watches as Jungkook makes his way towards his bed, flopping down with a satisfied grunt and pulling the covers up for Jimin to climb in, looking back at him expectantly.
Jimin stays rooted in his spot, trying to maintain the look of confusion on his face but it fails when he feels a smile break through. “What are you doing?”
Jungkook quirks his brow, looking genuinely confused, as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world. “Going to bed?”
Jimin steps closer until he’s standing directly in front of Jungkook, still not taking his invite into his own bed and crossing his arms instead. “Who said you could sleep over, Kookie?”
Jungkook’s face falls, and it takes everything in Jimin to not give in and just climb into bed and snuggle as close as possible to younger boy.
“You always let me sleep over, hyung.” Jungkook says plaintively, and Jimin is having serious whiplash. Just a minute ago, he swooped into his bedroom parading his damn muscles around and wearing that cocky grin as if he was the actual devil himself, and now here he is, looking up at him with those big, puppy doe eyes that used to make Jimin want to swim across oceans and move mountains.
And years later, it still works just as great.
But no, Jimin is a man now. A whole man! And he is not about to be swayed so easily by a cute boy with sparkly eyes and pretty, pouty lips. At least, not that easily. He still has to maintain some of his dignity in front of the younger.
“Hmmm,” He taps his index finger on his chin and pretends to think it over, even though it was obvious from the start that he was going to get into that damn bed anyways. He is so weak. “I don’t know. Aren’t we a little too old for sleepovers now?”
It’s almost as if a switch flipped because Jungkook goes back to wearing that fucking smirk and tugging Jimin straight into the bed, having him falling onto the mattress with a yelp.
“Don’t think of it as a sleepover then. Just think of it as us sleeping together.”
Jimin is internally screaming.
But he still lets Jungkook pull him in and hold him close, feeling his breath fan across the top of his head. He admits defeat to himself and finally relaxes, taking in more of Jungkook’s scent.
“Mmmm,” He subconsciously leans into the younger’s chest before realizing what he’s doing and backing up slightly, smiling sheepishly at the other. “You smell really nice... Since when did you start wearing cologne, huh?”
“Do you like it?” He feels Jungkook’s thumb rub soothing patterns on his lower back. “I’ll wear it more often for you.”
Jimin chokes on a laugh. “Idiot. Don’t say things like that.”
Jungkook just chuckles, and Jimin knows it’s because he’s completely aware of how flustered he is. Jungkook is the key to making Jimin lose all of his cool that he has worked so hard on in the past couple of years to build up, evidently.
“Okay, let’s just sleep then.”
“Don’t tell me what to do, I’m your hyung.”
Jungkook peeks an eye open and Jimin stares back at him defiantly. He doesn’t know where the feistiness came from, but his confidence dissipates once he feels Jungkook pull him in even tighter and leans down so close, their noses are almost touching.
“Fine, what do you want to do instead of sleep?”
Jimin swears he doesn’t even have to be looking at Jungkook to know he’s smirking. He quickly turns his body the other way so he doesn’t have to face him. His poor heart can’t handle any more of this kid. Jungkook whines, but Jimin doesn’t budge.
“Sleep.” Jimin says, forcing the finality in his voice but he knows there’s no way he’s falling asleep tonight like this.
But Jungkook obeys, fitting his arms comfortably around Jimin’s waist and letting out a content sigh. His breath fans across Jimin’s neck, and Jimin can only pray that the shiver his traitorous body releases isn’t obvious.
“Goodnight, Jiminie hyung. Sweet dreams.”
Jimin is screwed.
+ + +
Waking up next to Jungkook used to be an ordinary thing. He’d always coo at the sight of his puffy cheeks, even going as far as pulling at them to wake him up. Jungkook would groan and push Jimin’s hand away, digging his head into the pillow to escape his hyung’s affections but it would only result in making his bedhead hair even more disheveled and Jimin finding it even harder to resist teasing him and booping his nose.
But now, opening his eyes and seeing Jungkook’s sleeping face only inches away from his own does nothing but cause him to recoil to the other side of the bed, away from Jungkook’s chest where he was literally snuggling onto in his sleep.
Jimin checks the clock. It’s only seven in the morning. Way too early to be having heart palpitations.
When they both go downstairs, they’re greeted by Jimin’s family’s confused faces. Jimin immediately feels like he has to cover up for Jungkook, but he doesn’t understand why. Jungkook just came by in the middle of the night to... sleep in Jimin’s bed. Nothing else. But the questioning from his family and his racing heart make him feel like he’s been caught red handed.
By midday, Jimin’s parents have left to go to work and Jihyun retreated to his bedroom to nap while Jimin and Jungkook watch some K drama in the living room. There’s nothing good on, but Jimin didn’t really know what else to do to occupy Jungkook with so television was the safest bet in his opinion.
Jimin is barely listening to anything that the actress is saying, he’s too busy being hyperaware of the distance between him and Jungkook on the couch, or more so the lack thereof. He internally cursed when Jungkook had sat right next to him, leaving at least four feet of space at the other end of the couch.
He‘s so invested in his own existential crisis that he nearly jumps a foot into the air when Jungkook leans his head on his shoulder.
Jungkook gives him a funny look as Jimin apologizes. “You’ve changed, hyung.”
“What? What do you mean?”
Jungkook bites his lip, lowering his gaze to the floor. “I mean... you don’t act the same around me anymore. You always used to love having me around and now it’s just... different.”
“What! I’m not different, I still love you the same, Kookie.” Jimin rushes to explain himself, although he doesn’t even know what he’s trying to explain in the first place. “If anyone’s different, it’s certainly you.”
Jungkook blinks. “Me?”
“Yes! You’ve grown so much. You’re not the same baby anymore.”
If Jimin was trying to keep that sad pout from Jungkook’s face, it certainly worked, because instead he’s suddenly got a glint in his eye, the corner of his mouth turning up.
“Oh yeah? So what am I now?”
“Um...” Jimin supplies intelligently. He doesn’t know how to answer that, and it’s even harder to come up with a response when Jungkook is watching him so amusedly, as if this is what he’s been waiting to hear all along. The little shit.
He turns to his last line of defense when it comes to Jungkook making him nervous: Sassiness.
“Well, you’re still a baby for sure, but now you’re just taller. That’s all.”
Jungkook’s grin only grows wider, to Jimin’s dismay. “Really? That’s all that’s changed?”
“Mmm, you sure?” Jungkook leans in slightly, his eyes never leaving Jimin’s. “I know you can come up with more than that.”
Jimin’s mouth runs dry, but he stands his ground. “Y-yeah. You’ve become too full of yourself apparently.”
Jungkook laughs, his chin resting on Jimin’s shoulder now. “You’re so cute,” he whispers fondly.
Jimin is about to quip back with some witty remark, but the words get caught in his throat when Jungkook holds his chin and gingerly tips his head to the side so that they’re looking at each other. All of the playfulness has left his eyes, and the look on his face can only be described as heady.
“I really missed you, Jimin hyung.”
“Jungkook...” He reaches for the hand caressing his face. “I missed you too. A lot.”
The corner of Jungkook’s mouth turns upwards at that. “Yeah? You did?”
Jimin can only nod, not trusting his voice at the moment. It seems to be enough of an answer for Jungkook, because he continues speaking, thumbs tracing soft circles on his jawline.
“I couldn’t wait to see you again. Thought of you all the time. It hurt to be away from you.”
Jimin offers him a small smile, feeling his words touch his heart. “I’m here now, Kookie. I’m not going anywhere.”
Jungkook stares at him like he’s in a trance, eyes flitting towards his lips and staying there. “Hyung...”
Jimin stays silent, waiting. He subconsciously licks his bottom lip, not missing the way Jungkook tracks the movement.
“Show me how much you missed me.”
He doesn’t know who initiates it, but suddenly Jungkook lips are pressing against his own. It’s all it takes for Jimin to let go of his inhibitions, allowing the younger to take control. It should feel weird. He’s kissing someone he’s been friends with for years, someone he played as a role model to and would take care of. Someone, who is Jeon Jungkook. Jimin’s best friend.
But somehow, it feels like it was always supposed to be this way.
Besides, every previous conception of Jungkook’s dynamics with Jimin are thrown out the window when he nudges Jimin backwards, letting him fall back on the couch with a small gasp as Jungkook completely envelops his body. In the same breath, he uses the opportunity to deepen the kiss, Jimin letting out a moan at the feeling and bringing his arms around Jungkook’s shoulders.
When Jungkook pulls away to press kisses down his neck, the breath of fresh air helps bring Jimin a moment of clarity. He remembers where they are, realizes exactly what they’re doing. The curtains are wide open, revealing the street outside. His brother could come down and his parents could walk in at any moment.
“Jungkookie...” He hears him hum distractedly, too focused on leaving a mark against his collar bone. “We can’t... do this here. Someone might see.”
At this, Jungkook finally looks up. He lets out a groan at the sight of Jimin. His lips are already swollen red, spit slicked. Jungkook leans in again like he can’t help himself, devouring his mouth.
“Yeah? You’d like that, wouldn’t you?” he says against his lips, not wanting to be apart for even a second. “Wanna let everyone see how good I make you feel?”
Jimin whines at his words, cheeks reddening at the thought. It’s difficult to talk with Jungkook looming over him, but he manages to shake his head slightly. “N-no, I only want you to see.”
He almost misses the slight hitch of Jungkook’s breath and the look of surprise, as if he wasn’t expecting Jimin to say anything like that, but Jimin isn’t allowed to dwell on it for longer than a second before Jungkook is lifting him up, big hands grasping firmly underneath his ass.
“As you wish.” He has the audacity to smirk, speaking like an adult would when they acquiesce to a bratty child’s demands, but Jimin is too far gone to care.
They make it back to the bedroom, not without a few distractions. Jimin couldn’t keep his mouth off of Jungkook’s lips, face, neck - anywhere he could reach, letting out mewls when Jungkook would groan in frustration and bite down on his lower lip when he caused him to almost miss a step on the stairs. Jimin was addicted. One taste and he couldn’t bear to stay away.
Jungkook kicks the door shut, reaching back to fumble with the lock before walking forward to the bed and unceremoniously dropping Jimin onto it. He stands between his legs that are hanging off the edge, looking down at him in a way that can only be described as predatory, like he was just seconds away from eating Jimin up.
Jimin whines at the loss of warmth, reaching out towards the younger who still doesn’t even move at the request. “Jungkookie... come on already.”
Jungkook scoffs, still standing in place. “My baby’s so demanding. Can’t even ask nicely.” He tsks. “What am I going to do with you?”
Jimin keens at the endearment, almost losing his breath at the coiling feeling he feels just from Jungkook’s low voice and words. “‘M sorry. I didn’t mean to...”
Jungkook hums. “You gonna make it up to me?”
Jimin doesn’t waste a second to nod. “Yes, yes!”
Chuckling darkly, Jungkook beckons Jimin to sit up. He does so as Jungkook reaches for his zipper, palming himself while watching Jimin’s reactions closely. “Clothes off.”
Jimin doesn’t hesitate to remove his shirt, discarding it somewhere on the floor. His jeans and underwear follow suit. He’s never been fully naked in front of Jungkook before, but somehow he can’t find it in himself to feel the least bit demure. His head is buried in a cloud of lust, and he knows Jungkook will take good care of him.
“You gonna suck me off, yeah? Make me feel good, and I’ll forgive you for being so impatient.”
Jimin can only nod, gulping as he watches Jungkook unzip his jeans and push his underwear down enough to free his dick. Jimin eyes it hungrily, immediately going in but he’s stopped with Jungkook’s hands threading through his hair to hold him back.
“Use your words, baby.” Jungkook holds his erect cock up to Jimin’s mouth, teasing the head against his pouting lips.
Jimin whimpers. “Please, Kookie. I wanna be good, wanna make you feel good, please.”
Jungkook coos, running his fingers through his hair. It feels so soft and gentle, such a contrast to the current situation. “I know you will, baby. Go ahead.”
At the admission, Jimin takes the head into his mouth, sucking lightly and tasting the precum. Bringing his hand up to hold the base, he sinks slowly, taking in as much as he can and choking lightly when it hits the back of his throat.
At the sound of Jungkook’s groan, Jimin moves back and starts bobbing his head up and down, keeping a steady pace at first. He moans around the length and feels Jungkook’s grip on his hair tighten.
“Fuck, fuck, feels so good, Jimin.” Jimin peeks up at Jungkook through his lashes and sees the younger boy with his lower lip between his teeth, dark gaze boring into his own. Jimin picks up his pace a bit, encouraged by the shameless praises falling from Jungkook’s lips. “You look so beautiful like this, fuck.”
He hollows his cheeks and hears Jungkook hiss, the hand on the back of his head pulling slightly, signaling him to move off. Jimin slides back and lets go of Jungkook’s dick with a pop, feeling a wave of boldness rush through him as he kisses the tip sweetly, meeting Jungkook’s eyes.
Jungkook groans, pushing Jimin back on the bed and discarding his own clothes before kneeling between Jimin’s open legs.
“That was so good, baby, so good.” Jungkook runs his hands up and down Jimin’s thighs soothingly, spreading his legs open even wider. Like this, Jimin feels completely exposed. He whines and finally has the decency to be embarrassed, shielding his face with the crook of his elbow. Jungkook just chuckles. “Cutie. Don’t get shy on me now.”
“Kookie...” he begs, but Jungkook stays silent, thumbs drawing gentle circles from where they’re gripping onto the flesh of his thighs, waiting expectantly for him to continue. “Touch me.”
“I’m already touching you, babe.” Jungkook says with a teasing lilt in his voice, and if Jimin weren’t so desperate he’d smack that smirk right off of his face.
But instead, he swallows his pride. “Fuck me, please, Kookie.”
He still can’t see with his face hidden in his arm, but he hears and feels Jungkook lean over, stopping a couple of inches away from his face. “Jimin, look at me.”
Jimin can’t do anything but obey, timidly lowering his arm and meeting the younger’s eyes. He knows he must look like a whole mess, with his swollen lips and red cheeks and unruly hair. He looks so fucked out and they’ve barely done anything. But Jungkook still smiles sweetly, eyes flitting over his face in wonder, as if he’s stumbled upon an angel. He leans in and kisses him once, twice, before leaning towards his ear.
“So pretty, I’m gonna take good care of you.”
Jungkook reaches towards Jimin’s nightstand drawer to retrieve the lube. Jimin has half a mind to question how the hell Jungkook knew that was in there, but before he can even ask, he‘s pouring lube onto his fingers, using his clean hand to grip the underside of Jimin’s knee and push his leg further up, the other being held by Jimin.
His index finger circles his rim before dipping in, filling Jimin up to the knuckle in one go. Jimin gasps at the feeling of Jungkook’s long fingers finally inside him, but he wants more. He needs more.
Jungkook takes his time though, watching Jimin’s expression for any sign of discomfort and making sure he’s ready before he adds another finger. “Fuck, look at you, all desperate and needy for me. All of this is for me, yeah?” As if to emphasize his point, Jungkook curls his fingers at that exact moment and nudges against his prostate, causing Jimin to let out a wanton mewl in response.
Without warning, Jungkook leans down and presses soft kisses on Jimin’s pelvis, trailing lower to his perineum where he sucks a bruise. He moans lewdly at the thought of being marked in a place only Jungkook can see. Suddenly, he threads his fingers through Jungkook’s dark locks with a gasp when he feels his tongue press against his hole.
“Kookie! God,” His legs tighten around the younger’s head at the intense feeling. Jungkook’s added a third finger, his pace turning brutal, and along with the delicious feeling of his tongue prodding against his hole, Jimin knows he won’t last. “P-please, please, I’m ready, just fuck me already.”
At that, Jungkook pulls his hand back, pressing one last wet kiss against Jimin’s hole that causes his heart to flutter at the unexpected gesture. Jungkook sits back on his haunches, squirting a generous amount of lube on his hand before coating his cock while Jimin watches with bated breath, subconsciously spreading his legs a bit wider and steeling himself for the moment he’ll get to feel that thick length inside of him.
Jungkook doesn’t miss the stunned look on Jimin’s face, chuckling before dropping a kiss on his open mouth. “Ready?”
“Yeah,” Jimin breathes, wrapping his arms around Jungkook’s neck. “I’m ready, just—“
The words get caught on Jimin’s throat, replaced with a gasp at the first initial stretch. They both moan in unison, stilling once Jungkook bottoms out.
“Fuck,” Jungkook curses, resting his head into the crook of Jimin’s neck, “Fuck, Jimin, you don’t know how long I’ve waited for this.”
Jimin blinks blearily at the admission, running his hands gently down Jungkook’s sweaty nape. “H-how long?”
Jungkook looks up then, gazing at Jimin with such an intense look of fondness and bewilderment, like Jimin is a sight to behold, before his lips crook up into a small smile showcasing his bunny teeth, leaning down for a deep kiss.
“So, so long,” he says against his lips. “From the day I first met you.”
Jungkook chooses that exact moment to pull his hips back slightly before slamming back in, cutting off any sort of response Jimin had for his confession. Despite the soft moment they had just shared, Jungkook’s pace is relentless from the start, the sound of skin slapping against skin and Jimin’s moans resonating through the room.
“Fuck! Yeah, just like that,” Jimin whimpers, legs tightening around Jungkook’s waist. “F-feels so good, Kookie.”
Jungkook moans at that, hot breaths hitting his neck. “God, you’re so fucking hot.”
The pleasure is borderline painful, causing Jimin to choke out a sob, but he wouldn’t have it any other way. Jungkook feels so hot and heavy inside of him, filling him up completely, his grip on his hips bruising, and his pants in his ear alone were enough to have Jimin coming untouched. Jungkook was just so sexy, the epitome of a wet dream, and Jimin still cannot believe the turn of events. He can’t believe the situation he landed himself in with his baby brat of a best friend.
Jungkook was right. He had changed in more ways than Jimin could imagine.
“Waited so long to do this, been dreaming of this day forever.” Jungkook says breathlessly, pace not letting up in the slightest. “You waited for me too, right Jimin? Waited just like you said you would?”
Jimin’s distracted, not fully processing the meaning of the question. With Jungkook’s dick nudging against his prostate at every thrust, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to focus on anything else. He gasps when a hard smack lands against his ass, having taken too long to answer.
“I asked you something.” Jungkook growls in his ear.
“Yes! Y-yes, I waited all this time for you, Kookie... O-only you.”
Jungkook lifts his head and leaves a loving kiss on his mouth, Jimin too far gone in the pleasure to reciprocate. “Such a good boy.”
Soon enough, Jungkook’s thrusts become sloppy and frantic, signaling that he’s close. Jimin writhes underneath Jungkook, sobbing when the pressure becomes too much to bear. “Kookie, I-I’m gonna—“
“Yeah, m-me too,” Jungkook drives his hips into Jimin with purpose now, hitting his prostate dead on every time. Jimin screams, nails digging into his back hard enough to draw blood. He comes with what is by far the best orgasm of his young life, toes curling in white hot pleasure, cum landing on his lower abdomen and chest.
He mewls when he feels Jungkook fill him up, groaning into his ear as his thrusts finally slow down and become languid. Jimin whines at the oversensitivity but doesn’t push him away, instead letting his legs fall back to the bed and lying compliantly, allowing the younger to ride out his orgasm.
Jungkook finishes, falling on top of Jimin who lets out a grunt and complaint, but wraps his arms around his shoulders nonetheless, humming contently as Jungkook trails soft kisses up his neck and jawline. The sound of lips smacking and their breathing the only thing to be heard in the comforting silence. It’s peaceful and perfect, and Jimin lets himself bask in the moment for as long as he’s allowed to.
After a minute or so, Jimin speaks up with a quiet voice, as if not to disturb the tranquility. “Jungkookie?”
Jimin stares at the ceiling, not knowing how to phrase his next sentence. He lets it out anyways, knowing it’s now or never. “You said... you’ve been waiting for me. Since we first met.”
Jungkook pauses, then buries himself deeper into the crook of Jimin’s neck. “Yeah. I have.” he says almost meekly.
Jimin grins, carding his fingers through the younger’s damp hair. “You getting shy on me now?”
He yelps when Jungkook pinches his thigh, giggling soon after because he can feel his pout against his neck.
“Shut up,” Jungkook whines petulantly. Jimin coos, running his hands up and down his back encouragingly.
“Sorry, sorry. Go on.”
With a huff, Jungkook continues, “I’ve always had a crush on you, hyung. Ever since we were younger... I would constantly try to find ways to impress you and make you notice me but... I thought you’d always just see me as a kid.”
Jimin’s heart leaps at the confession. It’s obvious Jungkook is at least attracted to him now, but to have been pining after him for years? He couldn’t believe it. He wants to smack himself for being so oblivious.
Jimin nudges Jungkook, signaling for him to move off of him. He lifts himself back into his previous position, resting on his elbows while looking down at Jimin expectantly. Jimin takes his face into his hands, cupping his cheeks.
“First of all, you’re always gonna be a kid to me, Jungkookie. That’s just inevitable.” Jungkook squawks, offended, but Jimin sweetly kisses the frown off of his face. “Second of all, I’ve already noticed you a long time ago. It’s always been you, silly. It’ll always be you.”
Jungkook grins, looking off to the side. “You’re still so cheesy.”
“Shut up. As if you don’t love it.” Jimin says cheekily, squeezing Jungkook’s cheeks together. “You’ve always loved it.”
Jungkook laughs, leaning down for a kiss. “I do,” he mumbles against his lips before leaning back, smiling softly at Jimin, admiring every inch of his face as Jimin does the same.
“I love you, Jimin.”
“I love you too, baby.”
