“Do you love me?” I asked him.
Silence filled the space between them. He felt it, and in his hesitation, he found his answer.
He can’t bear the silence anymore, that’s why he spoke again, this time with a trembling voice clearly showing a sign that he was trying to prevent himself from crying right there and then.
“I see, P’Arthit.” Kongpob stated, his voice monotone.
Before he turned away, the older spoke finally. “Kong.. I..”
“No, it’s okay. I understand you. Well, maybe I’ll try.”
“See you on Monday.” And right after he said that, he turned his heels and left him in the room. His tears fell down immediately as he exited the building, the wet liquid clinging on to his cheeks. He felt like any time, he would be crying his heart out in the quiet night. He felt like when that happens, someone will see him and think that he’s completely lost it.
But if someone were to see him, they wouldn't be wrong though. Because he’s truly lost it.
