"Kacchan," The blond grunted in acknowledgment from his bed. Izuku sat at his desk in their dorm at Yueii University. Katsuki, a music major, had ended up with Deku as his roommate completely by accident. At first, he couldn't believe his misfortune at being forced to live with his former best friend, but over time, they made it work. They worked through their toxic shit and became good friends. "Could you kiss me? I need it for writing purposes." Katsuki sat up abruptly, staring at Izuku like he'd grown an extra head. Izuku continued to tap his pencil against his bottom lip, his brow furrowed in concentration.
"What the fuck? Why me? Why don't you go ask fuckin' Todoroki or some shit?"
"Because it needs to be genuine, Kacchan." said Izuku.
"What the fuck does that even mean?" Izuku finally looked at him, staring at the blond like he was being deliberately obtuse. "You know you're the only person I've ever had genuine romantic feelings for. I like Shoto plenty - but only as a friend." And that was another thing - the massive purple dancing elephant in the room. A few months ago, Izuku had confessed his feelings for Katsuki the same way most people would talk about the weather: he casually said "I love you" one day, and Katsuki had been off-kilter ever since. He still didn't know how to respond, so he just...didn't. Things went back to normal, and Izuku never brought it up again.
Until now, apparently.
"Look, Deku..." Katsuki threw his legs over the side of his bed, effortlessly jumping down from the top bunk. He paused - he'd started the conversation, but he had no idea how to continue it. His brain drew a literal blank, informing him he needed to come back later.
"It doesn't have to be a big deal," Izuku continued, and Katsuki watched as the other boy stood up and came into his space. "Please, Kacchan? It's just for research,"
"Fine, you perv."
Katsuki pulled Izuku in until they were chest to chest, and brought his hand to the underside of the green-haired boy's jaw. Their eyes met, and Katsuki noted that Izuku's verdant gaze was nervous and...interested. His other hand went to Izuku's waist, holding him in position. He watched as Izuku licked his lips quickly, and smirked inwardly. Nerd might be on the ace spectrum, but he knows some things.
Without further preamble, he kissed his childhood friend, making sure to keep his mouth closed to avoid overwhelming him. He pulled back after a minute or two and Izuku slowly opened his eyes like his entire system was rebooting. Color exploded across his face, and Katsuki smiled.
"Good enough, nerd?"
"G-Good enough Kacchan. Thanks."
